Welcome to the website of the Hungarian Unitarian Church
The Hungarian Unitarian Church is a Christian community rooted in Transylvania, with a history going back to the Reformation of the 16th century. It is the only church founded by Hungarians, and its beginnings are closely linked to the idea of religious freedom first proclaimed in Transylvania in 1568.
Unitarian faith is centered on the unity of God, the teachings of Jesus, and the freedom of conscience.
Today, the Church brings together communities in Transylvania and Hungary, and is present in education, culture, and community life.
This website offers an introduction to our faith, our history, and our communities. Whether you are learning about Unitarianism for the first time or exploring the heritage of Transylvania, we welcome you.
